Copley Hospital is pleased to welcome Ethan Harlow, MD, to the Mansfield Orthopaedics team and Michael Silverberg, DO, to The Women’s Center.

Dr. Harlow, who is no stranger to Vermont, is a fellowship-trained, board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of all shoulder disorders. He has specific interests in the treatment of rotator cuff tears, shoulder fractures, shoulder arthritis, and complex shoulder instability through arthroscopic techniques. Dr. Harlow will be working closely with John Macy, MD, Copley’s Chief of Surgery, in offering patients with shoulder disorders excellent quality care.

Dr. Harlow attended Essex High School and earned his Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University before attending the Larner College of Medicine at University of Vermont. He did his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Case Western in Cleveland, OH, and then completed the Cincinnati Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship. He received specific training in rotator cuff-sparing total shoulder replacement and arthroscopic bone augmentation procedures for complex shoulder instability. Additionally, he trained in shoulder surgery in France with Drs. Valenti and Boileau.

Actively involved in clinical and biomechanics research related to the shoulder and sports medicine, Dr. Harlow has been awarded multiple grants to conduct his research, has written several peer-reviewed publications, and has given presentations on his research throughout the country. Dr. Harlow is also the Chief Medical Officer for a Cleveland-based start-up, Notus Labs, which develops wearable technology to improve the safety and performance of athletes.

On September 23, Dr. Michael Silverberg joined OB/GYN Robin Leight, MD, and certified nurse midwives Kipp Bovey, Mary Lou Kopas, and April Vanderveer of The Women’s Center.

As a board-eligible OB/GYN physician, Dr. Silverberg offers a full range of education and preventative women’s health services, family planning and contraception counseling, high risk obstetrics and postpartum care, abnormal uterine bleeding and menopause management, and full scope gynecologic surgeries with a focus on minimally invasive procedures.

He received a dual Medical and Masters of Business Administration degree from Kansas City University and Rockhurst University. He went on to complete an Obstetric and Gynecology residency at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Following his residency, Dr. Silverberg joined Southwestern Vermont Medical Center for two years. His desire to be closer to family has brought him to the Copley community.

Dr. Silverberg is looking forward to building relationships with his patients while providing them at every stage of life with the opportunity to understand their options and manage their care.

He resides in Hyde Park with his wife, two children, a dog, and two cats. When not working, he enjoys traveling and being outside hiking, biking, camping, and skiing with his family.

Please join Copley in welcoming Drs. Harlow and Silverberg to our community and family.
