Copley Hospital will begin work this month on its 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), which identifies and prioritizes the medical and healthcare-related needs and concerns of the communities it serves. To that end, Copley seeks community input via an e-survey that will be available online through June 24.
Based on survey results and other research, the hospital develops plans, programs, and/or partnerships to address the issues and concerns that are identified.

This year’s assessment will begin with a community survey designed to collect a wide range of information about healthcare services community members use and how often; their availability, accessibility and affordability; as well as demographic factors such as housing, education, income, and who is using the services. The survey will be distributed through various means and channels, including the hospital’s website, Facebook page, Front Porch Forum, and via email to donors and patients. Copies of the survey can also be obtained by contacting the hospital’s Development and Community Relations office.
According to Emily McKenna, Executive Director of Development, Marketing & Community Relations, the survey will remain open through Monday, June 24. Patients, community members, and all residents of Lamoille County, she said, are encouraged to share their thoughts, experiences, and opinions. Once the information has been collected and assessed, the results will be put into a report and made available on the hospital’s website and through the Community Relations office.
“The more data and feedback we collect,” McKenna said, “the more opportunity we have to understand the needs of the community and develop plans and programs to meet those needs.”
